Awards and recognitions
In 1986, First Prize for Sculpture and Painting, “Second Contest of Plastic Arts for Young People” of the Government of Navarra and the representation of Navarra in the “National Contest of Plastic Arts.
In 1987, Third Prize for Sculpture in the “III Contest Pamplona Young Artists” of the City Council of Pamplona.
In 1991, nominated for the prize “Estellés del Año” in Estella (Navarra).
In 1992, Second Prize (Silver Medal). International competition “L’Ecologia, Ambiente e Natura” in Salerno (Italy).
He was appointed member of the Navarre Council of Culture (advisory body of the Department of Education and Culture of the Government of Navarre from the beginning of 1996 to the end of 1999), and President of the Commission of Artistic and Cultural Activities.
In the same year, he travels to New York, where he makes a series of paintings and works on impressions of the city, and achieves great critical acclaim and success.
In 1999, he was awarded the “Estellés del Año” (Estellés of the Year) by different media in Navarra.
In 1999, he is invited to represent Spain in the “XII International Painting Weeks Slovenia” together with an important group of European artists: Ashot Bayandour, Mario Benedetti, Gustav Gnamus, Matjaz Gruden, Andrej Jemec, Tommy Lydon, Valentin Ornan, Rudi Benétik, Hamlet Housepyan, Anna Lobner, Richard Nott, Jann Raisaen and Sasa Kladnik.
In 2000, the Godoy publishing house, with 35 collaborators and 22 photographers, produced a large biographical publication of Carlos Ciriza with 548 pages in English, French, German and Spanish and 586 illustrations.
That year he participates in the “VI International Congress on European Culture”.
In 2001, he is selected for the “III Navarra Sculpture Prize”.
In 2002, he receives the “Prix d’Excellence” at the Foire-Exposition de Montargis (France).
In 2003, the Société Académique des Arts, Sciences et Lettres de Paris awarded him the Diploma and Medal of Vermeil.
Between 2003 and 2006, he built the sculptural corridor “Los Símbolos del Camino”, on the Pamplona – Logroño Highway.
In 2006, the Commission of Historical, Artistic and Cultural Heritage of the City Council of Barañáin awards him, through public tender, the sculptural project “Abrazo entre los Pueblos” and the realization of two large sculptures, for the city of Barañáin and the city Caimito de Guayabal de Cuba.
In 2007, one of his sculptures was included as National Heritage and installed in the garden of the house of the King and Queen of Spain in the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid.
That same year the book “Carlos Ciriza in focus, photographic perception of his work” is published, in which 25 photographers express their vision of the artist’s works.
In 2009 he was named honorary knight of the Order of the Divine Count of Tafalla in Navarra.
In 2011, the 25th anniversary of his first exhibition is commemorated, (1986 / 2011) being carried out a large exhibition and the edition of a book in which 35 personalities of different estates such as Art Critics, Curators, Rectors of different Universities, Professors, Journalists, Directors of Museums, Representatives of the Diplomatic Corps and various Authorities write, and in which is included in its 178 pages and 344 photographs, the different artistic stages.
In 2016, he is named Knight of Honor of the Order of the Olive of Navarre and toast of Arróniz.
In autumn 2016, the airline Lufthansa, with its subsidiary Germanwings, invites the artist to present in an international and restricted competition, the project of a Memorial Monument in memory of the victims of flight 4U9525, for installation in the French Alps.
In 2017 he was named Cofrade de Honor de la Cofradía del Vino de Navarra.
In the same year, the Napardi Gastronomic Society of Pamplona awards him the Gallico de Oro, becoming part of a select group of personalities and institutions recognized with the award such as El Orfeón Pamplonés, Miguel Induráin, de la Quadra Salcedo or Ángel Argal, president of Médicus Mundi International among others.
In 2018, he was named Honorary Member of the TC of New York.
In the same year, he was named Honorary Member of the Roncal Cheese Guild.
He has participated as a member of the jury in various competitions and contests and has received important awards, including the “Camino Real” Award, which King Felipe VI presented to the actor Antonio Banderas and Rafa Nadal, among other personalities, in recognition of his work in the dissemination of Spain in North America. Award from the Franklin Institute of the University of Alcalá.

Navarra Journalists Association Award, SER Navarra Awards or Jaime Brunet International Award from the Public University of Navarra, among others.
In May 2023 in Mendavia, he was named Cofrade de Honor de la Cofradía del esparrago de Navarra.
